FAQ – Phoenix Storks and Birthday

  1. What is your delivery area?

    We are located in Phoenix, Arizona and service most of the Phoenix-Metro area. We deliver to locations in Ahwatukee, Avondale, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Guadalupe, Laveen, Litchfield, Mesa, Peoria, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, Sun City, Tempe, Tolleson and Verrado. Please see our Delivery Area page for a zone-map and pricing. If you don’t live in our delivery area, please give us a call and we will see what we can do.

  2. What time and days do you deliver?

    We deliver 7 days a week and you can call any day during the hours of 9am to 6pm. FOR BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT RENTALS We like to deliver the rental before mother and baby arrive from the hospital for a surprise. FOR ANY OCCASION YARD CARD RENTALS We setup the display between midnight and 3 A.M. the MORNING of the Date you specify and pickup after 6:00 P.M. the same day. Please keep in mind in our office is in our home and we will return all calls we receive but sometimes are busy with family.

  3. When do you deliver and pickup the displays?

    BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT DISPLAYS we setup between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm the night BEFORE mom & baby come home from the hospital. We will pick up the display in the evening of the last day of the rental period.
    FOR ANY OCCASION YARD CARD RENTALS We setup the display between midnight and 3 A.M. the MORNING of the Date you specify and pickup after 6:00 P.M. the same day.

  4. What are the signs made of and how do they stand up?

    BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT DISPLAYS: Stork and Baby Signs are hand painted, specially treated sign-board. The keepsake are made from another material and are professionally created using vinyl letters. These signs have metal stakes that are placed into the ground approx. 8 inches.
    FOR ANY OCCASION YARD CARD RENTALS: The main yard sign is a folding weighted plastic sign that does not impact the yard area. The individual items are inserted into the ground with small stakes.

  5. How tall are the signs?

    All our BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT signs, with the exception of the “Basketball Boy” are slightly over 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The “Basketball Boy” is closer to 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The ANY OCCASION LAWN DISPLAYS comes with a 4 foot tall personalized message board and the individual signs vary between 1 foot and 2 feet tall.

  6. Do you offer a spotlight?

    Our signs can be reserved with a spotlight for nighttime viewing, but it must be requested when placing the order. An extension cord can also be provided if requested. No additional charge for either light or extension cord, just let us know when you reserve your sign that you would like a spotlight kit. PLEASE NOTE: Due to liability/insurance, we cannot plug in the spotlight. It will be staked into the ground and the extension cord (if necessary) will be left near the front door or behind the sign. Also, as the spotlights are complimentary, we will not be able to replace a light bulb in the event the light bulb burns out during the rental period.

  7. What if I want to move the signs?

    Please do not attempt to move the sign. If you would like it moved to a different location in your yard, please call and we will be happy to assist you. A travel fee may apply for each time that we have to come out and move the sign. If you have special instructions on where to place the display please notify us when you are making the reservation.

  8. Can I mow and water my lawn?

    FOR BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT RENTALS: If you must trim your yard during your rental period, please be careful around the sign. If at all possible, please let the trimming around the sign go until it has been removed. We do understand that this is not always feasible, but we do sincerely appreciate you taking precautions to protect our signs. Watering is fine, our signs are sealed to protect them from water damage.
    FOR ALL OCCASION LAWN DISPLAYS: Watering is fine, please do not try to mow around the display, or take it down for mowing. If you wish to have the display removed before the rental time is up, please call us and we will be happy to come and remove it for you.

  9. What if the sign(s) become damaged?

    Our signs have been successfully tested in wind and rain and have proven very durable. If however, you notice any damage as a result of severe weather, please notify us immediately.
    Our signs are not designed to withstand climbing by children. Please, for your child(ren)’s safety, do not allow them to play on or near the sign.
    If any vandalism or theft occurs, please contact us immediately.

  10. Where do you leave the keepsake after removing the sign?

    When your BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT sign is removed, the personalized keepsake will be left somewhere on the front porch area. We do not ring the doorbell or knock in case mom and baby are resting. If you would like the keepsake left in a different location please inform us when you place your order. No keepsake is included with an ANY OCCASION LAWN DISPLAY.

  11. How long are the sign rentals for?

    BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT SIGNS Storks and Babies may be rented for 6 hours, four days or seven days. ANY OCCASION LAWN DISPLAYS are only available for one day with setup done before 6:00 am (typically between midnight and 3 A.M.) and will be removed from the yard after 6:00 pm the same evening.

  12. How much do stork or birthday yard signs cost?

    $50 for 6 hours (baby shower)
    $60 for four days or
    $80 for seven days

    $80 for a Standard Display (Message Board + 20 items)
    $100 for a Deluxe Display (Message Board + 30 items + “Happy Birthday”)
    $120 for a Premium Display with Lawn Letters + 30 Items + “Occasion” Sign

  13. What does the price include?

    BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT SIGNS Rental prices include travel fee if applicable, setup and take-down, optional spotlight and also include a a Keepsake with the baby’s birth info.
    ANY OCCASION / BIRTHDAY YARD DISPLAY Rental packages vary depending on Standard, Deluxe or Premium/Lawn Letters.

    STANDARD – Message Board + 20 items = $80 + $X travel fee
    DELUXE – Message Board + 30 items + “Happy Birthday” Sign = $100 + $X travel fee
    PREMIUM* – Lawn Letters (Name + Age) + 30 items + “Occasion” Sign = $120 + $X travel fee
    *Please note, not available for all yards*

    We typically set up between midnight and 3 am the morning of the requested setup date, and take down the same day, after 6pm.
  14. What happens if the sign is not picked up after my last day of the rental period?

    We ask that you do not remove our signs or light kits. If we give you an extra day rental then that is complimentary. However, we do ask that the signs are available at all times on the lawn as we placed them originally for convenient pick-up times for our company.

  15. Do I need a reservation and how soon can you deliver?

    At this time, we cannot accept reservations for BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT SIGNS, please call us as soon as possible after the birth to see if a sign is available. We can have it setup and delivered any where from 24 to 48 hours if sign is available. For ANY OCCASION LAWN DISPLAYS we can reserve a display on a first come first served basis. For last minute orders, we can usually deliver any where from 24 to 48 hours if the display is available. We do not take reservations more than a month in advance.

  16. What methods of payments do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We Do Require Payment via Credit Card by Day of Delivery.

  17. What do you do if another Display is already setup in the yard?

    If we arrive to setup a lawn display and find that another company has ALREADY setup a display in the yard, we will use our judgement to see if a second display is appropriate. We will NOT move another company’s property to make room for ours. If the yard is too small and/or we feel we do not have room to create an attractive display, we will NOT setup. We will send a message (text or email) to let you know that we encountered another display and how we chose to handle the situation. We will then contact you in the morning for rescheduling or refunding if appropriate.

  18. What is your refund policy?

    All lawn rentals must be paid in advance with Credit Card. You will receive a full refund if the following applies: You cancel your lawn rental at least 24 hours in advance or Extreme weather conditions prevent us from setting up your display. You will receive a partial refund if we are unable to deliver a lawn display because: Another lawn display has already been placed in the yard and we felt it was not appropriate to place a second one.

    You will NOT receive a refund if the following applies:
    • The homeowner stops us from setting up the display.
    • The homeowner calls us and asks us to remove the display.
    • You give us less than 24 hours notice to cancel your order.
    • You have given us the wrong address or date.
    • We cannot set up the display because of a gated community/security guard that will not allow us access.
    • The homeowner has a dog loose on the property that will not let us on the property.
    • A lack of grassy/gravel area to stake in.
    • Or any other reason we cannot set up the display that is beyond our control.

    For those surprise displays please let someone in the household know that we will be on the property that day if at all possible. Note: You will be held liable for any sign damage or lawn display disappearance during the scheduled rental time.
